How to get Xbox Game Pass with T-Mobile T-Mix plans

Comparison of T-Mobile T-Mix plans: Standard $55 with 1 Pick, More $75 with 2 Picks for Game Pass Premium, Loaded $95 with 3 Picks for Game Pass Ultimate

T-Mobile customers in the US will be able to get Xbox Game Pass Premium or Ultimate as part of the new T-Mix plans starting in November 2026. Game Pass isn’t a free add-on to every plan: you pick it with “Picks,” the benefit credits included with T-Mix Standard ($55), More ($75) and Loaded ($95). Reports say Premium uses 2 Picks and Ultimate uses 3, which means one line needs at least T-Mix More or Loaded.

This guide covers what T-Mobile and Xbox announced on October 26, how Picks work, which plan gets you which Game Pass tier, what to do with an existing Game Pass subscription, and what’s still unconfirmed. We checked the details on October 27, 2026 against T-Mobile’s newsroom post, the Xbox Wire announcement and Xbox’s Game Pass page.

Before you start

  • Availability: Eligible US customers on a T-Mix plan, beginning in November 2026 (no exact date announced)
  • Plans: T-Mix Standard $55, More $75, Loaded $95 per month for one line with AutoPay, before taxes and fees
  • Game Pass tiers offered: Premium and Ultimate only
  • Watch out: If you already pay Microsoft for Game Pass, you may get charged twice unless you manage that subscription yourself

What T-Mobile and Xbox announced

On October 26, 2026, T-Mobile introduced T-Mix, a new lineup of plans built around Picks. Each Pick buys one benefit, such as Netflix, YouTube Premium, Apple Music or Google Gemini. Xbox announced the same day that “beginning in November, eligible T-Mix customers can choose Game Pass Ultimate or Premium,” and called it the first time Game Pass has been available through a US wireless plan.

T-Mobile’s announcement lists these Picks categories: streaming (Apple TV, Hulu, Netflix, Paramount+, YouTube Premium), music (Apple Music, Pandora, SiriusXM), gaming (Xbox Game Pass), food delivery (DashPass), sports (ESPN Unlimited), travel (Delta SkyMiles), AI (Google Gemini), plus wireless extras like T-Satellite and device promotions.

T-Mix plans and Picks compared

Plan (1 line)Price per monthPicks includedGame Pass tier it can cover
T-Mix Standard$551None, if Premium needs 2 Picks
T-Mix More$752Game Pass Premium
T-Mix Loaded$953Game Pass Ultimate

Prices are T-Mobile’s single-line figures with AutoPay, excluding taxes and fees. T-Mobile says more Picks come with higher tiers and extra lines, and all plans have a four-line maximum. T-Mobile’s own post doesn’t list the Pick cost of each benefit. The 2-Pick (Premium) and 3-Pick (Ultimate) figures come from gHacks’ reporting of the announcement, and 9to5Google’s plan summary also places Premium on More and Ultimate on Loaded. Confirm the cost in the T-Life app before you switch.

One thing to weigh: if Game Pass takes all your Picks, you can’t also take Netflix or YouTube Premium on that line.

Premium vs. Ultimate: what you get

Based on Xbox’s Game Pass page, checked October 27:

FeatureGame Pass PremiumGame Pass Ultimate
Game library200+ games500+ games
New games on day oneNo; select Xbox-published games within a year, excluding Call of DutyYes
EA Play and Ubisoft+ ClassicsNot listedIncluded
Cloud gaming10 hours per month15 hours per month
Rewards points2x4x

If you mostly play new releases such as Call of Duty on launch day, only Ultimate covers that. If you play older catalog games, Premium may be enough.

How to get Game Pass through T-Mix

T-Mobile hasn’t published step-by-step redemption instructions yet. Based on how Picks work in T-Mobile’s announcement, expect this order once T-Mix goes live:

  1. Move your line to T-Mix More (for Premium) or T-Mix Loaded (for Ultimate) in the T-Life app, online or in a store.
  2. Choose Xbox Game Pass as one of your Picks.
  3. Follow T-Mobile’s prompt to link or create a Microsoft account. Use the same account you sign in with on your Xbox or PC so your saves and achievements carry over.
  4. Check Settings > Account > Subscriptions on your Xbox, or account.microsoft.com/services on the web, to confirm the T-Mobile-provided subscription shows as active.

We’ll treat steps 3 and 4 as provisional until T-Mobile publishes its redemption page.

If you already pay for Game Pass

T-Mobile’s fine print says benefits follow their own partner terms and warns that “you may need to manage your existing third-party subscriptions to avoid duplicate charges.” In practice:

  • Don’t cancel your Microsoft billing until the T-Mobile version is active on your account.
  • After it’s active, turn off recurring billing at account.microsoft.com/services so you aren’t paying twice.
  • If you have prepaid Game Pass time from codes, check how Microsoft handles stacking before you link. Neither company has addressed that yet.

Picks rules to know before switching

From T-Mobile’s announcement:

  • You can change your mix up to four times a year: three change windows plus an annual “Remix” window.
  • Some benefits hold your Picks for a quarter or longer, and changes to active benefits take effect at the next quarter.
  • Switching a partner benefit outside a change window may cost a fee.
  • Picks have no cash value, don’t roll over and aren’t refunded if unused.

That means you can’t take Game Pass for one big release month and drop it the next week. Plan on keeping it for at least a quarter.

FAQ

Is Xbox Game Pass free with T-Mobile?

Not exactly. It’s included as a Pick on paid T-Mix plans, and it appears to need 2 or 3 of the Picks those plans include. Taxes and fees still apply.

When does Game Pass on T-Mix start?

Xbox says “beginning in November” 2026. Neither company had given an exact date when we checked on October 27.

Can I get Game Pass on an older T-Mobile plan like Go5G?

Xbox and T-Mobile tie it to T-Mix. Neither announcement mentions older plans, so assume you’ll need to switch.

Does it work outside the US?

No. It’s for eligible T-Mobile customers in the US.

Can I play on PC with the T-Mobile version?

Xbox says T-Mix customers can play on devices they already own, including Xbox consoles, smart TVs and PCs. Your PC access depends on the tier’s own terms on Xbox’s site.

Your next step

Before November, add up what you pay now for your phone line and Game Pass, then compare it with T-Mix More ($75) or Loaded ($95) for one line. If the new plan costs less and you’d use the other Picks, switch once T-Mix is live and cancel your direct Microsoft billing after the T-Mobile subscription shows as active.
